Custom, hand-built electronic circuits designed to improve and enhance the fun and thrill of radio-controlled models.
For a couple of years now, we've been selling a set of navigation lights specifically designed for the Extreme Flight Bushmaster, and it's been very popular. Included in the set are 1 x Red and 1 x Green wingtip lights, 2 x Asynchronous White Strobes, 1 x Red Simulated Rotating Beacon, 1 x White Tailcone Light, and a pair of Landing Lights that blink back-and-forth in the "Wig-Wag" pattern that is scale for many float planes. This combination of lights and functions has proven to be useful for a lot of other aircraft models besides the Bushmaster, so we've made a couple of changes to it, to try to make it even more appealing to a greater number of modelers.
One change has been to the function of the Red Rotating Beacon. You will now have the ability to pick from 3 different simulated "speeds" for the beacon, using the small pushbutton switch on the top of the board. The second change is actually a second option that you can make while ordering, you can now select from either the original circuit that features the Wig-Wag Landing Lights, or a new one with normal Landing Lights that simply come on and stay on, as is scale for most aircraft land on a runway, like the Piper Cub. Look for the drop-down menu on the upper-right side of the product page, and select the version you need.
If you have trouble finding it, or if you need to have this set customized to fit your model's configuration, just give us a call and we'll be happy to give you a quote.
New Video by Just Plane Crazy Showcases DRCE NavLights!
Brenden McCormick (no relation!) has just released a new video on his YouTube channel, Just Plane Crazy, that documents his installation of a set of custom navigation lights we built for his build of an AT-6 Texan 2 made by Gator RC. Brenden receives models from various vendors and manufacturers, and he records everything it takes to complete the build, from the initial "unboxing" to the finished, ready-to-fly product. This model is an ARF, and the installation of navigation lights in an ARF can seem so challenging that many modelers are reluctant to attempt it. But he shows you several clever tips and tricks that will help you see just how easy it can be to accomplish on almost any model, and his videos are quite watchable and very well done. Click on the link below to surf on over and check out the new video, and if you enjoy it remember to click on both the "Like" button and the "Subscribe" button, so you will be notified of new videos as soon as Brenden gets them posted!
The NavLight Set featured in this video is a custom set that was based on one of our stock sets, the DeHavilland Beaver NavLigths-8mm Giant Scale. Because the AT-6 Texan 2 is not a float plane, we changed the stock set slightly so that the Landing Lights would come on/off in the normal way (not Wig-Wag), and we swapped the Simulated Rotating Beacon for another Double-blink Strobe. This illustrates our ability to modify the programming on any of or navigation light sets to accommodate any model and any lighting scheme. If you have a model for which you need a set of navigation lights, just give us a call, or use the Contact Form to provide us with your specifications. If we don't have a stock set that suits your needs exactly, we'll design one for you that does!
Swap Meet Schedule
Well, 2020 is finally behind us, and 2021 is looking more "normal" again, so we're really looking forward to being able to attend some of the swap meets and RC expos that usually happen every year, beginning in the fall months. Since many clubs and organizations have been locked down for over a year now, plans are still not final for some events later this year, so we'll be adding events to our swap meet schedule here as they are announced. We look forward to seeing a lot of you this year (and next year!) on the road!
