The Drop-Down Landing Light Kits for the Legend Hobbies' OA-1K include everything you need to install working Drop-Down Landing Lights in the new OA-1K Skyraider II. They include all the parts for the mechanisms, the servos, servo arms and servo arm adapters, control rods, 8mm High-brightness LEDs, a chrome reflector for the LED, and the control board to make everything work. The control board connects directly to your receiver, and provides control of both the drop-down servos and the LEDs from a single receiver channel.
These kits can be used to create drop-down landing lights for any model, and can be purchased separately for those modelers who need only a single landing light.
Operation of the drop-down light is simple, and automatic. When the channel used for the lights is toggled from one side of center to the other, the servo moves the mechanism up/down, and turns the landing light on/off as appropriate. A switch located on the control board allows the light's on/off state to be switch, in case you decide to use a different servo with different programming.
This circuit features unique programming designed to make installation as easy as possible. It "imports' the end point of the channel used for the lights, and applies those end points to the movement of the servo. This allows the modeler to adjust the up/down positions of the cup that holds the light so that it is fully raised and fully lowered, with no binding of the servos. The output for the servos is reversed for one side, making the operation of the servos correct for the orientation of the mirrored mechanisms.

Drop-Down Landing Light Kits for Legend Hobbies'OA-1K
The drop-down fittings are 3D printed using a light gray PETG filament, so it will blend well with the gray coverings used on the bottom of many models. PETG filament is stronger and resists heat much better than the more common PLA filament, and is easy to paint, so you can easily match it to your model's color scheme. The drop-down fittings are "mirrored", so there is a LEFT and RIGHT version of the plates that mounts on the bottom of each wing, which positions the drop-down light outbound (closer to the wing tips) on both wings. This provides scale accuracy for many models, and also allows the cables for the servos and the LEDs to be routed back to the fuselage without having to cross over the mechanism itself. Cables for both the servos and the LEDs are connected to the control board using standard servo connectors, allowing for easy wing disconnects. The control board is normally mounted inside the fuse, unless you're installing just one mechanism, in which case the control board could be mounted inside the wing itself, if desired.
This product is available in three versions:
- Controller Only - this option includes ONLY the control board, the LEDs and reflectors. It does not include any of the 3D printed mechanisms that lower the LED and the fitting that holds it.
- Controller with One mechanism - this option includes the control board and ONE 3D printed mechanism. (Please specify RIGHT or LEFT)
- Controller with Two mechanisms - this option includes the control board and BOTH 3D printed mechanisms (LEFT & RIGHT).
